Weddings, portraits, and the quiet moments between.
I photograph the day as it happens. Very little posing, no shot list read out over a microphone — just close attention, and a gallery you'll actually look through.
Ten years, mostly other people's best days
I'd rather you forget I'm there
I'm Naledi. I've been photographing weddings around Gauteng and the Free State since 2016, after five years of news and editorial work — which is where the documentary habit comes from.
I work in natural light almost entirely, and I stay out of the way. The couples I work best with are the ones who want to spend the day with their people rather than on a two-hour photo shoot away from their own celebration.
You don't need 2 000 photographs. You need the eighty that you'll still want to look at in twenty years.
Every booking includes a curated, edited gallery — not a memory card of everything the shutter caught. Culling is part of the work.
Straightforward pricing
Travel within 60 km of Johannesburg is included. Beyond that I'll quote fuel and accommodation up front — never added afterwards.
Full wedding day
Ten hours of coverage from preparation to the dancing, with a second photographer.
Intimate ceremony
Four hours, one photographer. For under 40 guests — registry offices, home ceremonies, elopements.
Couples & engagement
Ninety minutes on location. Often the easiest way to find out whether we work well together.
Family portraits
One hour, outdoors or at home. Children and dogs welcome and frankly encouraged.
From couples
“We barely noticed her all day. Then the gallery arrived and she'd caught my father crying during the vows — from across the room, without anyone seeing.”
“No posing, no ‘everyone look here'. It felt like a friend with a very good camera, and the photos look like our actual wedding.”
“She sent 340 images, all edited, three weeks later. Every one worth keeping. I've seen friends get 2 000 and use six.”
Tell me about your day
I take a limited number of weddings a year so I can give each one proper attention. Dates for the next season tend to go by mid-winter.
